Are you so hooked to your smartphone that you just can’t spend a few minutes without it? You are not alone. A study found that the average person spends approximately 6 hours a day looking at their phone- or more. This state is known as “Nomophobia”– popularly known as cellphone addiction. More than 1/3 of the average person’s life is about their cell phone whether they are listening to music or texting a friend.
However, no one ever used their expensive smartphones in the shower- yet. For those who can’t spare a minute without their phone, there is now a new accessory. Just like car chargers, wallet holders, etc, the screen-holder shower curtain is the new thing- and might be found everywhere in the next few months. Or not?
The screen-holder shower curtain has pockets of different sizes that can hold various devices. It has four portrait phone pockets, six landscape phone pockets, three portrait tablet pockets, and four landscape tablet pockets.
Obviously, it is waterproof and ensures your phone stays problem-free while it is with you in the shower. You can place your device in any position you like by choosing one of the multiple pockets to text, Netflix, browse Facebook- basically whatever. And it is suitable for all heights which means that it is probably designed for children as well.
The question is though, is it needed? Personally, we do not recommend letting children use it as it can definitely cause serious problems, and is also highly unnecessary. Spending that much time using a phone can be regarded as severely unhealthy, especially for children. It does seem like an unnecessary accessory for adults too as the amount of time spent using your cellphone should be controlled to a certain extent.
However, it may be fun for those who want to watch an episode of their favorite show while taking a hot shower or handy for those that need to keep an eye on their phone for a very important message. Beyond that, we really do not see the point of this new accessory and do not think it will become a widely practiced trend like self-charging phone covers.
Nevertheless, it does have some plus points. The curtain is highly durable and can last for years and it is also mold-resistant. You can attach it to your existing shower curtain if you want to keep a bit of color in your bathroom because it is transparent and it has room to hold iPads and bigger devices too.
